Why We Are Here
Greetings Everyone!
I can not begin to express the excitement I have for our 2nd annual IoT HackDay this Saturday! The idea of IoTHackDay was conceived in a coffee shop during the summer of 2014 between friends as a way to bring people together for 12 hours in a fun environment and use technology to solve everyday problems. Over the course of the past 2 years we will have had 25 teams and more than 130 people compete, invent, discuss, share, learn, motivate and laugh as they are building their projects. Some teams are there to just have fun, learn from each other and have a relaxing Saturday, while others have business aspirations of making their product a commercial success. Whatever the reason, I’m happy that each of you will be there to show the support and passion our community has in technology and entrepreneurship.
If this is your first IoTHackDay, welcome! If you have participated in the past, we are very happy that you have chosen to return. Putting this event together takes a lot of work and I would like to personally thank Patrick Delaney, Eric Tsai, Jake Berendes and Bill Faulk for putting in their time and energy to making what I think will be an amazing IoTHackDay this year. This event would not have happened with out them and the help from our awesome sponsors.
As I think about what we are doing in the field of the Internet of Things, I’m reminded of this quote:
"The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do."
- Steve Jobs
I’m looking forward meeting all of you this Saturday and can’t wait to see what we accomplish. Let’s change the world!
Thank you,
Justin
