Hack Day Collaboration Software

I'm wondering what people think of using Slack as a collaboration tool the day of the hack day? E.g. we could have folks sign up for slack and create a channel around this concept. If you haven't used Slack yet, it's an amazing collaborative work tool.

I just noticed that Slack also won a "Game Changer Award" at https://thenetawards.com/
now I really need to try out Slack :)

Thanks for the suggestion Patrick! I've used Slack as well. Setting up a channel that day would be great. When we get there that morning, let's work out the details. Another thing I'd like to try and remember we do again this year is have the teams tweet. Show the world what you are building and let's take down Twitter with #iothackday on Oct 17th!

Another idea - if we get everyone on Slack, then we can have slack feed pictures out to Twitter. So what we can do is basically have people download the Slack app on their phone, take pictures as they go along, and post that to Slack, hashtag them, and all of that will keep automatically feeding out to Twitter.

Basically, we can just set it up so that everything hashtagged #iothackday gets fed out on a central IoTHackDay twitter feed.

We can use IFTTT as a quick way to integrate Slack/Twitter.
